Instructions for Windows 95 1.
Click on the Start
button in the lower left corner of the screen. 2.
Go to Programs,
Internet Explorer, and then choose Connection Wizard. 3.
The first screen
should say Get Connected. All you have to do here is click next 4.
For the Setup
Options choose I want to set up a new connection on this computer to my
existing Internet account using my phone line or local area network (LAN) and then
click next 5.
Choose Connect
using my phone line for the next step and click next 6.
From this point
Windows may need you to insert your Windows 95 CD to install some files 7.
The next step is
going to ask you to type in the Internet service provider phone number. Type in 966-2400
in the space provided, and click next 8.
For the User
Name and Password step you need to type in the login name and password
that you signed up with. This information is on your invoice and should be typed in with
all lower case. Please note that your login name is not your e-mail address! Once you have
completed this step click next 9.
The next screen is
going to ask you if you want to change the advanced settings. For this option choose
YES and click next 10. The
Connection Type is a PPP (Point to Point Protocol) and this option
should be selected. Click next 11. You
dont need to type anything when logging on option should also be selected, and
click next to continue 12. For
the next step choose My Internet service provider automatically assigns me one
and click next 13. The
next screen DNS Server Address is a really important step. You need to choose
Automatically Assigned. Once you have completed
this click next 14. For
Dial-Up Connection Name just click next and continue on to the next step 15. This
step is to setup your Internet Mail Account, you want to choose NO
as you will set this up using the sheet provided on mail setup 16. This
step is to setup your Internet News Account, you want to choose NO
as you will set this up using the sheet provide on mail setup 17. This
step is to setup your Internet Directory Services, you want to choose NO
and click next 18. Click
Finish and you are all setup to access the NET
