Instructions for Windows XP 1.
Click on Start, All
Programs, Accessories, Communications, New Connection Wizard. 2.
Welcome to the New
Connection Wizard. Select Next to continue. 3.
Network Connection
Type, choose Connect to the Internet this is the 1st choice. Select
Next to continue. 4.
Getting Ready,
choose Set up my connection manually this is the 2nd choice. Select
Next to continue. 5.
Internet
Connection, choose Connect using a dial-up modem this is the 1st
choice. Select Next to continue. 6.
Type in Advanced
Net in the space provided for the ISP name. Select Next to continue. 7.
Type in 966-2400
for the phone number to dial to connect. Select Next to continue. 8.
Type in the Login
Name / User Name and Password in the space provided and make sure you have the three
choices checked. Select Next to continue. 9.
Click on Finish
and you are all set and ready to connect to the Internet. 10. To
set up E-mail, Click on Start, E-mail Outlook Express. 11. If
the Internet Connection Wizard starts when you first enter Outlook Express skip down to
Step 5, otherwise continue on. 12. Click
on Tools and then Accounts. 13. Click
on Add and then Choose mail. 14. Your
Name. Type in the name you want to appear on your e-mails for Display Name. For example,
John Smith. Select Next to continue. 15. Internet
E-mail address. Type in your e-mail address. (username@advnet.net) Select Next
to continue. 16. E-mail
Server Names. My incoming mail server is a: POP3 server. Type in
mail.advnet.net for the incoming (POP3) mail server. Type in mail.advnet.net for the
outgoing (SMTP) mail server. Select Next to continue. 17. Internet
Mail Log On. Type in the Login Name / User Name and Password you picked when you signed up
that can be found on the Invoice. Check the box Remember password Select
Next to continue. 18. Click
on Finish and you are all set. |
